Zurich-based SolAvis is the continuation of SolAbility in a different form. SolAbility is a Korea-based sustainability consultancy that has developed and implemented sustainability strategy and management systems for a number of Korean corporations.
Mandates executed for corporate clients included design of overall sustainability strategy, as well as development and implementation of specific sustainability management policies and tools, including implementation of corporate-wide KPI tracking and reporting systems, risk management (both strategic risk management and project-related risk evaluation and management tools), ethical behaviour excellence and risk reduction, environmental management strategy, data management, and energy/GHG emission reduction strategy, supply chain management systems, HR development management, stakeholder engagement, and external communication (integrated sustainability reporting).
Three Korean corporations for which SolAbility has developed sustainability management systems are recognised as global sustainability leaders in their respective industries, having been named "sustainability super-sector leader" by the Dow Jones World Sustainability Index (DJSI) for several years running:
The DJSI is the most important corporate sustainability benchmark globally, annually evaluating the sustainability management and performance of the World's largest 2'500 companies. Only 19 of these 2'500 are considered "supersector leaders".
In addition, SolAbility also provided ESG research on the sustainability management capabilities of listed Korean companies to institutional investors. An SRI fund based on SolAbility research achieved the best performance amongst comparable Korean investment products for 6 consecutive years, and the SolA 50 Index of Korean companies has outperformed the market as well as sustainability benchmarks since inception in 2007.
The knowledge and expertise gained from SolAbility's sustainability advisory in Korea is now concentrated in SolAvis.
